Security Metrics

Abstract:

Information Security is one of the few areas of management that is still very much an art instead of a science and as such it is hard to measure program effectiveness and value delivery, such as risk reduction. The primary goal of an information security metric program is to quantify data and present it in a way that facilitates insight and supports decision making about information risk in order to manage that risk. For this meeting, Signe Jackson will discuss aspects of identifying areas of measurement, developing 'good' metrics, and the benefits of an information security metrics program.

Speaker Bio:

Signe Jackson, CISM, CISSP has over 15 years experience in information security and over 20 years in the telecom industry. For the last five years she has been at AT&T and is the program manager for the Information Security Metrics Program. She has experience in security program development, policy development and implementation, information risk management and governance programs.
